hay wagon trip

We picked up a used hay wagon and though it was a 2 1/2-hour trip there, it was about a 4 to 5-hour trip home.  We couldn't really go over 40 mph and so we took back roads to get home.  Here are some random shots along the way.  I finally pulled out my Nikon camera again, I have been using my cell phone to take pictures, so it was fun doing drive-by shots, just point and shoot.

Despite the long time it took us to get home, we had a nice drive through the country and sorry for the photo overload.

the southern belle

I had meant to share these photos of a trip we took September of 2023 to see family down in Texas.  This was the neatest place to have dinner.  I wish I had taken a photo of the delicious plate of food and tea we both had.  We arrived here just as it was opening up for business.

Reading about this train while we waited for our food to arrive was very interesting.
If you are ever down in Heavener Oklahoma, you definitely have to stop and get a bite to eat at the Southern Belle Restaurant.

over and back

Leaving Manitowoc Wisconsin.

Arriving in Ludington Michigan.

Arriving back at Manitowoc Michigan.

Sorry for the photo overload.

We took the SS Badger across Lake Michigan from Manitowoc Wisconsin to Ludington Michigan to pick up two of our grandsons to bring them back to our farm for a week's vacation.  We absolutely love being on the water, I unfortunately got a bit queasy from the rolling water on the way over, but on the trip back it wasn't too bad.  We stayed the night in Ludington Mi with our son and his family.

They came the following weekend to pick up the boys.  We had a wonderful week and weekend spending time with family.

texas trip

It's photo overload here, sorry about that.  We have had a busy September and took a trip to Texas to visit our son, dil and the granddaughters.  The photos are just a highlight of the trip.  We saw some neat sights, had dinner in the Southern Belle, took walks everyday despite the 90+ degree weather.  We picked pecans from our son's backyard, we even got up close and personal with some longhorns and I think my most favorite of all was visiting Blue Bell ice cream.  Unfortunately, the closest I have seen it is too far away where we could buy it...sigh, it is soooo good.

I forgot to also mention that we got to see our granddaughter preform in the marching band at half time.  Texas high school football and marching band is amazing.

Trying to get so many things done around here before the snow flies.  We so enjoyed our trip to Texas but it was time to head home and get back to reality.
